Schwetty

7/27/10

Thanks so much to those that came out to Bordertown this past Saturday night. I'm pretty sure that's the biggest crowd that place has seen in a long time, if not ever. Special Olympics Arkansas Area IV was thrilled with the amount of money raised thanks to your donations and your ability to drink a freakish amount of beer. I expect nothing less from our fans. Also, thanks to Grant Pierson and his two very talented kids for opening the show for us. The FOTC song was great. Hope to see y'all again soon. A special shout out to our  'Wingnutters' (you know who you are) "Dance till you can't dance till you can't dance no more" - C+C Music Factory.

We're going to take most of August off to work on some new material and to sit in the a/c. We'll be back for a few gigs in September, but won't know the exact dates for a week or two. They'll be posted as soon as we get them. Until then, try to stay out of the heat. Here are a few wiki-links that might help you get through these hot days:
Uno, Dos, Tres.

Bordertown BBQ

7/13/10

We'll be at Bordertown BBQ (formerly Rib Shack on Hwy 71 S) on July 24th. Our friend Eric Wallace recently took over this restaurant. He's made some great improvements. Cool new sign, Draft beer on the patio, and some of the best barbeque in town. This is our last public show until mid-September, so we'll be extra-loud with some new adds. Hope everyone can make it out to support the beneficiary of this fundraiser, Special Olympics. Grant Pierson & Friends will open the show at 6:30. Wingnut will take the stage at 8:30.

Be sure to your dancing shoes. For those of you from Oklahoma, just be sure to wear shoes. I kid. I'm serious. I kid.

I'm serious.

New Shirts

7/7/10

We recently got a new shipment of shirts in. Check them out here. I don't remember who all I promised these to, so if you want a shirt, send us an email and I'll get one to you. Shirt sizes and prices can be found by clicking the "Shirts" tab above.

Coaching Shorts

6/30/10

A big thanks to Shannon and Dennis for a great time this past weekend. We had a lot of fun, as we always do at their parties. We're really looking forward to playing their 2nd Annual Halloween Party coming up this Fall. We're taking some time in the next couple weeks to add some new songs and to get fitted for our new uniforms. I thought I got a sponsorship phone call from Nike the other day. Signed on the dotted line. Turns out it was Bike, the manufacturer of the ever-popular coaching shorts from 1975 - (surprisingly) Present. We'll make it work. Donnie Bass was actually pretty pumped about it. We'll be back with you all on July 24th at Bordertown BBQ (formerly Rib Shack on Hwy 71). Have a great 4th of July.

Heat slash Humidity

6/22/10

We appreciate everyone who came to the La Huerta show on Saturday night. It was hot, but we had a great time and a great crowd. Thanks to Mas Agua for opening and to the CES volunteers for putting on a successful event. We’ve got a couple of parties to play and then we’ll be back at Bordertown BBQ (formerly Rib Shack on Hwy 71) for another show when it cools off…July 24th. Stay clean. I shouldn't have to say that.

Radio Interview

6/16/10

Two of Wingnut's finest, Donnie Whitson and Tim McClure, will be in the KTCS 99.9 studio on Friday, June 18th at 7:30am. They will be talking about our June 19th show at La Huerta and informing the public about how cool we think we are. Tim bought a new shirt for this interview...I am not joking.

Juneteenth

6/11/10

Saturday, June 19th we'll be at La Huerta with special guests, Mas Agua, for a fundraiser benefitting Children's Emergency Shelter. We hope to have a good turnout and raise a lot of money for CES. We will be debuting the new Wingnut 3.0 shirts which will be available in several colors, including camo for all of our redneck fans (pictures located under our 'Photos' tab). I'm thinking about auctioning off dates with our two eligible bachelors, Tim and Eric, cause I'm pretty sure we'll be low on gas that night. Please only bid on one, not both. They're not like that...I don't think. Probably depends on the bid. I'll post the 'Buy it Now' price the night of the show. We hope everyone can make it out for some great music and cheap beer, benefitting a worthy cause.

Gracias

5/17/10

Thanks to everyone that came out to La Huerta this past weekend. The place was packed. We had a great time and were able to raise close to $4k for Arkansas Children's Hospital. This exceeds a $ record we set last year at La Huerta. ACH was very pleased and appreciative of our fans.

We'll be back at La Huerta (with special guests Mas Agua) on June 19th for a show benefitting the Children's Emergency Shelter.

Find us on Facebook for show reminders, roadie applications, and other egregious, self-promoting statements.

ACH

5/11/10

Our ACH Benefit show is coming up this weekend at La Huerta. We hope everyone can come out to support a very worthy cause. We've added a lot of new stuff in our two-month hiatus, e.g., songs, equipment, haircuts, dance moves, and a wife. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Green Light

4/19/10

Congratulations to Jeremy and Christie on their wedding this past weekend. We're all very happy for them. Once they return from their honeymoon we're going to get started with some shows. Our first show of the season is May 15th at La Huerta. This will benefit Arkansas Children's Hospital. A couple friends of ours, the Cedar Bottom Boys, will open the night at 6:30 and we'll take the stage at 8:30. We hope everyone can make it out for some great music benefiting a great cause.

Bon Voyage

3/4/10

March and April have been selected as Official Wingnut Vacation Months. The odometers will start smoking very soon:

JT and lovely soon-to-be wife – 5400 miles (Traveling to Italy for their honeymoon)
Donnie Bass and wife – 1300 miles (Sailing the Caribbean seeking peace and quiet)
Tim – 48 miles (Traveling to Paris, Arkansas for unknown*)
Josh – 21 miles (Strip pits, Charleston, Arkansas in search of the elusive Largemouth bass)
Eric – EDIT: 311 miles (Eric and Courtney will be hitching their way to Dallas to see Vampire Weekend)

*Seriously, we have no idea why he goes to Paris, Arkansas.

We’ll get these personal conquests out of the way and meet back up with you on May 15th at La Huerta for a face-rocking, good time.

Too Cold!

1/28/10

I think we’re going to take a break until it warms up a little. This cold weather has us shattering speaker cones, breaking guitar strings, making trips to the ER (probably unrelated to the cold weather), spending far too much money on fingerless gloves, propane, and pashminas, etc, etc, etc. We’ve got some originals to work on while everything thaws out. We’ll post the spring and summer dates very soon.

Thank you to those that invited us to play at Oh WATA Night. We had a great time and the fundraiser was a big success. The Western Arkansas Tennis Association raised close to $20k for youth and adult tennis programs.

WATA

NYE and PAC

1/4/10

Had a great time at Shannon's New Year's Eve Party. Good people, good food, good drinks, good time. Ironically, 7 different people had 7 different official times, hence the 7 different countdowns. We really liked the 2nd and 3rd countdowns the best. Things got a little awkward after that.

To the girl that made the lascivious comment to Tim (you know who you are), please call Wingnut headquarters. Tim would like some further information from you as well as your hand in marriage.

Looking forward to the PAC show on January 9th at the Greenwood Performing Arts Center and 'Oh WATA Night' on January 23rd.

Multumesc mult pentru oaspeti de la Moldova.

'10

12/31/09

We would like to wish everyone here in the States and our friends in the Republic of Moldova a Happy New Year. We'll be ringing in 2010 with our buddy Shannon at his potentially epic New Year's Showdown at the Chateau.

"New Year's Resolution: To tolerate fools more gladly, provided this does not encourage them to take up more of my time" - James Agate

Dear Santa

12/10/09

Dear Santa, if you can find it in your heart to make some exceptions and agree to overlook those three minor incidents from earlier in the year as well as that other slightly larger thing involving the backhoe and the spotted owl and the neighbor's potted plant, we would like the following (or cash equivalent):

Eric – Gooseneck trailer to haul his pedals
Tim – Bucket of chicken and a warm pashmina
Donnie – Dual exhaust for his bass
JT – One of those furry Russian hats and a book on Golden-Winged Warblers
Josh – Peace on earth and some Legos (sans theme)

Thank you in advance,

Wingnut

Happy Thanksgiving

11/24/09
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Travel safely and remember that Wingnut is thankful for you, even if nobody else is.

'Tis Almost the Season

11/10/09

Thanks so much to the Harper/Waugh families for inviting us to perform at your wedding this past weekend. Had a lot of fun. Tim loved the artichoke hearts. We have a few weeks to work on some new material before playing a Christmas party. We're thinking about implementing red and green turtlenecks into our band uniforms. Until then, we will continue to wear the standard white tank tops. Not really.

Halloween

11/1/09

Played the best Halloween party we've ever attended on Friday night. Saw some great costumes. Will upload some pics soon. Shannon knows how to throw a party. Can't wait to play at his New Year's Eve bash. Wedding reception this weekend then we've got a break for a little bit.

Gigs and Wigs

 10/10/09

Played a great wedding on Dickson last night. Had a lot of fun and got to play some new music. Looking forward to Shannon's Halloween party coming up in a couple weeks. Thinking about dressing up as a real band.

Rib Room

9/13/09

Rib Room turned out great. The rain held off until the end of our last set. We really appreciate those who came out. We have great fans. For the second straight fundraiser, we broke another $ record. Special Olympics really appreciates all of the support. We'll upload pictures and some audio samples soon.

La Huerta Uno

8/24/2009

We hope everyone can make it out this Saturday for our first show at La Heurta. Mr. Cabbage Head and the Screaming Radishes will also be playing that night. Should be a great night of music and a great night for the beneficiary, Children's Emergency Shelter.
